One day after announcing that East Los Angeles College would be the site for the City Section Division I and II championship football games, assistant commissioner John Aguirre said Friday the Coliseum is back under consideration after being called to a City Hall meeting on Friday with Councilman Tom LaBonge and Coliseum officials.

Aguirre said a final decision should be made by next week. The City Section had decided to switch to holding its finals at East L.A. College to save money. Aguirre said two scheduled meetings with Coliseum officials had been canceled.

I think there’s nothing wrong with holding the finals at East L.A. It’s good venue and if it saves the City Section $20,000 or more in costs, that’s important.
