It was quite a third quarter for Carson, which recovered two fumbles and got a key fourth-down sack from Trevor Gagau. Carson is still hanging with Mission Viejo, trailing, 28-14, going into the fourth quarter.

Darreus Rogers, Carson’s junior receiver, is playing like a future big-time college prospect. He has six catches for 134 yards.

Dallas Kessman has rushed for 151 yards for Mission Viejo.

Update: Michael Connell has scored on an eight-yard run, giving Mission Viejo a 35-14 lead with 10:05 left. Jahleal Pinner has scored on a one-yard run for a 42-14 lead with 7:35 left. Darreus Rogers caught a 30-yard TD pass for Carson. Final score: Mission Viejo 42, Carson 21.
