Football: Blackwell catches TD pass

USC’s future passing combination clicked for Santa Ana Mater Dei on its first possession against Bellflower St. John Bosco. Quarterback Max Wittek passed 32 yards to Victor Blackwell for a touchdown.

On defense, Mater Dei’s Todd Hunt had a sack and a three-yard tackle for a loss. Mater Dei leads, 7-0, with 8:50 left in the first quarter.
