It figured it wouldn’t be long before Tim Floyd returned to Southern California to secure his first commitment, and the Texas El Paso Coach appears to have snagged a good one in La Verne Lutheran senior point guard C.J. Cooper.

Cooper visited the campus in El Paso last weekend before making his pledge to Floyd, the former USC coach who is in his first season with the Miners.

‘I didn’t know a lot about the school so when I went down there I took a look at it [and] everything was great, the style of play was great, I liked how they practiced and I liked the way coach Floyd coached,’ Cooper told Rivals.com.
