Westlake Village Westlake will hold a pregame tribute at its season opener on Friday against Oxnard honoring former player A.J. Castro, a U.S. Army specialist who was killed last month in Afghanistan in a land mine explosion.

Castro’s funeral is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Westlake Village. Members of this year’s Westlake football team will be transported by bus to the funeral. Castro’s father, Hector, is the team’s director of football operations.
