Football: Trinity League is strong
Five of the six Trinity League teams began their seasons last week, and four came out victorious. Only Santa Ana Mater Dei lost its opener.
It's another sign of the status quo, meaning the Trinity League season will be as brutal as ever.
That's why its important for teams to schedule challenging nonleague opponents, because once league play begins, teams have to be at a high level.
We'll find out more this week about Bellflower St. John Bosco, which plays Lakewood on Friday, and Santa Margarita, which plays Tesoro.
Anaheim Servite and Orange Lutheran are the favorites. Mater Dei, coming off its Carson loss, will get better.

hey brave dad: typical; you have nothing to say now. what happened to your johnnies against lakewood? I thought your kid was licking his chops all week before the game.LMAO!

Santa Margarita is the worst team in the league...Jserra was competive with Bosco and Olu before depth became a factor in the end of the 3rd quarter and they also beat sm

Hmmm well bosco does have some big boys and from what I saw yesterday at the jv game, they play some tough football. They have to wait till Friday might because they are about to get punched in the mouth by lakewoods fast paced offense and savage defense. Lakewood knows how to win. With two semi finals in the last 2 yrs. Bosco is a great program but they have never played a team as tough and a team that has drive like Lakewood does. Lakewood will pack the stands. Look for an exposive, hard hitting Friday night. It's gonna be a great game

john bosco beats lakewood? that's a good one. lakewood will have the back ups in early because of this mismatchup. no one in the johnny program has ever experienced a playoff game. the coach is an unknown. the johnnies should seriously consider getting out of this league so that these fine kids don't get crushed in every league game. servite considers the game against the johnnies a bye week. say your prayers johnny fans. we don't want your little guys hurt.

Windward!! Are you kidding? Last season they attempted to take on St. John Bosco's "little brother school" Salesian High School in Los Angeles and Windward got their behinds handed to them 34-7. Until Windward can handle our brothers in Division XIII there is nothing to talk about.

Great. LA really needs another academy for the privileged. Maybe they can schedule Oaks Christian.

I'm not sure who Windward is, but I know Bosco always operates at a classy level. It's just tough competing in the Trinity league. I also wouldn't call Bosco the worst team in the league, since J Serra will hold that title for a long time. I suggest everyone wait until at least the end of non-league, when it will be readily apparent who has game and who doesn't. Talking smack now makes you look really stupid later.
And who is Windward again?

Wow! There is nothing wrong with having school spirit, and confidence in your football team, but when you have not made it to the playoffs in 6 years. Brave Dad, Another Brave Dad, and BraveFB you might want to take the wait and see approach before you start talking smack. Yeah you beat Mission Hills, but you are about to be served a slice of humble pie when you play Lakewood Friday night. You should have scheduled Poly to, so you could receive a double Moore league butt whooping.

muturalviewer, thanks for the support (the score was actually 47 - 21, but point taken). as far as the haters, ignorrance is bliss. oh and as far as the GED offer, save it for your poly guys, Bosco takes care of academics and I'm good. LMAO!!!
Posted by: BraveDad | September 06, 2010 at 09:24 PM
umm im sorry but didn't bosco just kill poly in a scrimmage and last friday Bosco killed a good mission hills team that beat Tesoro in CIF last year in a score of 41-21 .the Moore league power house lakewood will get SMACKED IN THE MOUTH. I rest my case and my son goes to OLU.

LMAO! You guys are great comic relief.

Wait a minute BraveFB, the ex-all CIF linebacker is writing the check to me - I'll endorse it over to the program. LOL! This all CIF linbacker dude is funny, isn't he. Oh yeah by the way, I was all CIF QB, Linebacker, D-lineman, punter, kicker, & oh yeah holder too (sometimes I even snapped it to myself) - LMAO!!!

that's right bosco boys. your squad is extremely weak. lakewood will destroy you. btw, the tuition is 30 grand per at windward. more than you two clowns make combined. and yes, last year's team had four players go D-1, that's four more than bosco. brave daddy, I saw you get ripped by one of your own players last week. I see you didn't follow his instructions. best of luck on your next GED attempt.

Bosco beats Lakewood.
Posted by: AnotherBraveDad | September 06, 2010 at 02:01 PM
What the heck are you talking about? Who the hell are you to talk about Bosco like you know something? Windward, are you fricken serious? Bring your sorry team over to Bellflower and get an ass whoopin son! Bosco has 45 D-1 scholarship players in the past 10 years, so unless you know what the heck you're talking about you should shut your mouth. I'll be waiting for that donation, please make the check out to Bosco Football.

LOL! You are a former all CIF linebacker? Can I have your autograph? LMAO! Get a life dude.
Good luck to all programs.

strong league except bosco. they will be lucky to win one league game. 8 man squad windward, led by former NFL player scott napier, would crush bosco. coach negro should attend a coach napier practice to learn proper coaching techniques.four windward players from last year's team received D-1 scholarships. bosco would struggle in windward's league. as a former all CIF linebacker, I can't see bosco staying in the game against lakewood. if bosco doesn't get blown out, I will make a large donation to bosco's favorite charity: brave dad.
