Football: Penalties confuse fans

There was lots of booing from fans on both sides during the Marmonte League game between Westlake Village Oaks Christian and Ventura St. Bonaventure when officials called several 15-yard personal foul penalties for illegal contact with the helmet.

As part of a crackdown trying to prevent concussions, illegal contact with the helmet is a point of emphasis for officials this season.

And they certainly emphasized it on Friday night, with the penalties helping out and hurting both teams.
