It didn’t take long for host Palos Verdes to get on the scoreboard in this afternoon’s intersectional game against South Bay rival San Pedro. After linebacker Michael Nardoni recovered a fumble at midfield, the Sea Kings drove 49 yards in four plays, capped by Zack Fixen‘s 19-yard pass to receiver Robby Kolanz, who was wide open in the end zone. Fixen set up the score, scampering 33 yards on a quarterback keeper.

San Pedro went three-and-out on its next series and Zach Henkhaus returned the punt 44 yards to the Pirates’ 11-yard line. Fixen scored on a one-yard sneak four plays later to increase the Sea Kings’ lead to 14-0 with 2:30 left in the first quarter.
