Football: Orange Lutheran leads 14-10 at halftime

For the first quarter and a half Orange Lutheran quarterback Mike Markovsky executed the option offense to perfection, leading the Lancers to a 14-0 lead. However, their last two drives ended with interceptions, the second by safety Vai Peko on the final play of the first half.

Markovsky has completed 8 of 13 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. He has also rushed 11 times for 43 yards, including a 1-yard sneak to cap the Lancers’ second scoring drive. Jabari Wilson has rushed for 33 yards and one touchdown in 3 carries.

La Habra quarterback Cody Clements is 5-for-10 for 96 yards and has a 9-yard touchdown run. Running back Drake Griffin sat out the Highlanders’ first series and has just three carries for 22 yards and one reception for seven yards.

Brett Bartalone has a 40-yard run and has caught two passes for 66 yards.

La Habra is lining up to receive the second-half kickoff.
