Cody Clements scored on a 9-yard quarterback draw and La Habra is right back in the game, trailing host Orange Lutheran, 14-10, with 43 seconds left in the first half. Senior cornerback Mike Sparling set up the score with a 41-yard interception return to the Lancers’ 23.

Earlier in the quarter, the Highlanders drove deep into Orange Lutheran territory, only to have Ahmad Avery fumble on his way to the end zone. Jason Martin recovered for the Lancers on their 2-yard line.

On its next possession, La Habra drove to Orange Lutheran’s 20-yard line but kicker Sean Wale missed a 36-yard field goal attempt with 3:05 left in the first half.
