Football: Kelsey Young leads Norco past Crenshaw

Stanford-bound running back Kelsey Young rushed for 297 yards in 22 carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 70, 73 and 37 yards to lead Norco past Los Angeles Crenshaw, 25-21, at Norco.

Crenshaw dropped to 0-2 and saw its chances of returning to a state bowl game virtually vanish. De'Anthony Thomas rushed for 93 yards and scored two touchdowns. Crenshaw committed three turnovers.

Attention all City Section haters. You might want to hold off on your City Section demise predictions until we see how Carson does against Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo. The Colts could be in position to be this season's Crenshaw. And let's see how Narbonne does against LB Poly and Gardena Serra.

Sorry for the "Crenshaw Nation", but it just goes to show that Crenshaw is just all hype and a one time wonder. Had not Servite chose not to play the in the "small school" state championship game, Crenshaw would have not played the Division -1 championship game at all. So if you ask me, them playing for the state championship was only by default. Yeah they dominated the City Section last year but once they faced a division 1 team (De La Salle & the Georgia team), they crumble and fall.

The problem is that they are in the city section which over all is a sad section and like the other guy said, they have too many "two way" players. The city section will never be as good as the Southern section and will never be able to compete with Pac-5 (divison-1) teams not to mention Inland (division-2) and Northern (division-3). Yeah they may win a few here and there, but they could never win win a actual CIF title.

It was fun while it lasted, but the party is over now.

Norco's offensive of line clearly outplayed Crenshaws. I like the big boy Marcus from Crenshaw, but I think Norco's big offensive linemen Brent Walker outplayed him. Check out the film.

Shame on the Crenshaw boosters at and fans! I am a fan of Norco, I used to live in the Crenshaw area, and apppreciate the school and the people , but I was disapointed with their turn out at Norco. Last year Norco rented buses for their fans, I sorta expected Crenshaw to do the same. Yes the traffic was tough, but the folks at Crenshaw are tough too and could have planned for this seasons road games better. The Crenshaw players and coach have been abandoned by their fan base, taking for granted that these kids could beat a good team without their fan base. You can't expect kids to go to another state and play one week come home for the holiday and face a team like Norco on the road with no support. The better Cougar won today, but my hat is off to the Crenshaw players and coaches.

Stop crying Crenshaw it is what it is. Yes Crenshaw has more than enough players so players don't have to go both ways. Take a page out of Norco's book, they turned alot of bums into decent players, there are more than enough good yound players, but the coach has to trust his players more.
What happend to the Crenshaw fans at the Norco game, no where near enough support for a big time program like Creshaw. Maybe they need to fire the head of the booster club, those kids needed more support.

THE CRENSHAW NATION

There will be no tailgating this year for Crenshaw Nation at the Home Depot Center. That all went out the window last night. Everyone who knows me, know where I lay blame at. I'm sorry these kids have to be subject to this brand of coaching. Hats off to the coaching staff at Norco who just flat out coached us. I've said it once, twice, and again and again. You can't have these kids playing both ways the whole game and expect for them to be fresh in the forth quarter. I still think we can have a great season and win out, but we should be 2-0. We have the BEST football player pound for pound in DeAnthony Thomas, but we don't know how to use the kid. Dorsey has gotten so much better, but you can also see that they are getting coached up over there. So winning the City is still the # 1 goal, but going back to State sure would have been nice.
