On Wednesday, early in the third quarter of the junior varsity football game between Los Angeles Dorsey and host North Hollywood, the game was suddenly halted when officials told both teams to leave the field.

Then a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter proceeded to land to transport a young girl injured nearby when a gate apparently fell top of her.

The field was judged the best place to land the helicopter so the victim could be quickly transported.

Everyone got to see how our first responders work quickly, safely and courageously to help others.

No word on the condition of the victim.
