With Oregon’s starting kicker suspended, former Sherman Oaks Notre Dame kicker Eric Solis made quite a first impression for the Ducks. The freshman made field goals from 24, 29 and 30 yards in Oregon’s 72-0 win over New Mexico. He also was nine for nine on PATs. Not bad for a walk on.

Notre Dame continues to be the school for kickers. Ex-Notre Dame kicker Kai Forbath had three field goals for UCLA. And ex-Notre Dame kicker Erik Folk made a field goal for Washington. All were trained by private kicking guru Chris Sailer.
