Football: Crenshaw is improving

After an 0-2 start, defending City Section Division I champion Crenshaw has routed Wilmington Banning, 46-0, and Riverside North, 50-3, in its last two games.

‘We’re getting better,’ Coach Robert Garrett said.

Running back De’Anthony Thomas rushed for 120 yards in 10 carries and had an 86-yard kickoff return while scoring two touchdowns against North.

Crenshaw also is trying quarterback Marquis Thompson at receiver. Junior Jerry McConico is getting time at quarterback.

And Taft transfer Shaquille Shelton is starting to contribute. He had 90 yards rushing and two touchdowns against North.
