Football: Carson makes debut under Asante

It’s going to be an intriguing City vs. Southern Section clash Saturday night at Santa Ana Stadium, with Carson making its debut under new Coach Elijah Asante against Santa Ana Mater Dei.

Asante was the coach at L.A. Jordan. He inherits a top quarterback in Justin Alo.

Mater Dei has expectations of competing for a Pac-5 Division championship behind USC-bound quarterback Max Wittek.
