Football: A scoreboard almost comes crashing down

September 20, 2010 |  8:35 am

There will be a slight delay in erecting the new $250,000 scoreboard at Encino Crespi. It appears that Crespi's receivers have better hands than the crane that was trying to lift the new scoreboard, because it had a "hard landing" when the crane tried to lift it, according to school spokesman Paul Rawate.

The school will get a bigger crane, because the scoreboard is "huge," Coach Jon Mack said.

It needs to be working well because the "Air Mack" passing attack set a school record last week in a 34-33 win over Clovis West.
