Boys' basketball: Grant coach to sing national anthem at Dodger Stadium

Howard Levine, the boys' basketball coach at Van Nuys Grant entering his 25th season, is scheduled to sing the national anthem on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium, then sing God Bless America in the seventh inning of the Dodgers' game against the Padres.

Levine has been a long-time usher at Dodger Stadium and has sung the national anthem before. He also sings Frank Sinatra songs at clubs.

My question: Is he getting the night off from being an usher?

escalante

Howie Levine is a class act, having helped and coached kids for so many years. the foolish BIRMINGHAM people didn't realize what they had in my boy GIL ARENAS. Howie welcomed Gil w/ open arms and turned his undisciplined playground style into a quality team player who has gone on to dominate at both the collegiate and pro level. I saw Gil work out last week at UCLA, and he was very impressive. He will undoubtedly be comeback player of the year and a MVP candidate. Howie, do it large tuesday.
