Watching 6-foot-5, 365-pound junior offensive tackle Tavita Tua’au from Gardena Serra walk around the football field reminds me of the nightmares I had when thinking about playing football. I never wanted to get suffocated at the bottom of a pile, and imagine what it must be like if Tua’au falls on top of you.

He’s bigger than some NFL linemen. He’s a transfer from Wilmington Banning who responded well in a scrimmage earlier this week against Anaheim Servite.

In fact, the play of Serra’s offensive line was one of the most impressive parts of the Cavaliers’ game. Quarterback Conner Preston might have better protection than the President, led by three-year starter at center, Sione Veikoso, a 6-1, 260-pound senior. Serra hasn’t even unveiled 6-3, 300-pound Georgia transfer Dominique Vaughn, who has been nursing a toe injury.
