A head coach sometimes has to worry about assistants talking bad stuff behind his back, but at Anaheim Esperanza, Coach Greg Kemp has so much confidence that two of his assistants are former Esperanza head coaches.

Bill Pendleton and Gary Meek add their experience and knowledge to the program, and Kemp couldn’t be happier.

‘We’re all good friends,’ Kemp said. ‘They’ve been mentors to me.’

If you want a can’t miss program to move up with the new league alignments this fall, pick Esperanza. The Aztecs leave one of the toughest leagues in the Southland, the Sunset League, to join the Century League. That means they leave the Pac-5 Division for the Southwest Division.
