Baseball: Rubanowitz makes summer impact

The summer is a good time to spot baseball players on the rise, and one of them is senior shortstop Alex Rubanowitz from Calabasas.
Playing in the wood bat Valley Invitational Baseball League, Rubanowitz batted .491 with 28 hits. He plays in the tough Marmonte League, and make no mistake about it, come 2011, he deserves recognition as one of the league’s best players.
Whether the college scouts are going to take notice remains to be seen. All he has to do is keep hitting and playing strong defense. Then no one can doubt his skills.
