Baseball: Ex-Hart player Trevor Brown is a summer star

Trevor Brown, a Newhall Hart graduate who will be a sophomore at UCLA this fall, had two hits to help lead the Wenatchee AppleSox to the West Coast College League title on Tuesday night with a 6-5 win over Bend Elks.

He finished the championship series going five for 12.

Incoming UCLA freshman pitcher Zack Weiss from Irvine Northwood went 2-1 with a 2.51 earned-run average and three saves in 17 appearances (three starts) for Wenatchee. He struck out 31 and walked nine in 28 2/3 innings.
