L.A. teams advance to RBI World Series

Leesa Harris from Westchester had four hits and three stolen bases to help the Los Angeles RBI Dodgers softball team defeat the Major League Urban Academy team, 6-1, to win the RBI Western Regional championship and earn a birth in the RBI World Series in Jupiter, Fla., Aug. 9-14.

Pitcher Megan Reimer from L.A. Marshall threw the complete game.

The Los Angeles RBI baseball team also advanced to the World Series from Aug. 3-9. Desmond Henry from Compton Centennial hit an inside-the-park home run in a 4-2 win over the Urban Academy. Pitcher Alonzo Gonzales (Santa Monica) keyed the victory.
