Football: Hottest ticket in town could be Loyola-Mater Dei

July 26, 2010 | 11:24 am

It's only a scrimmage, but the Aug. 28 football matchup between Santa Ana Mater Dei and Los Angeles Loyola could be the most popular scrimmage of the day.

It's scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on a Saturday at Loyola's Hernandez Field. And considering that Mater Dei travels well, somebody better come up with parking and seating ideas.

It will be the debut of new Loyola Coach Mike Christensen. And USC fans will be out en masse to watch Mater Dei quarterback Max Wittek, who will be throwing against Loyola quarterback Jerry Neuheisel, the son of Bruins Coach Rick Neuheisel.

Do they give special parking to sportswriters?
