Baseball: Playa del Rey wins Legion opener

Jamal Moore, a senior pitcher at Westchester, threw six innings, and Crenshaw grad Kenji Corbisiero threw the final three innings to help Playa del Rey defeat San Mateo, 4-3, in an opening game of the American Legion state championships in Yountville.

Long Beach defeated San Bernardino, 7-6, in another opener.
