Calabasas shortstop Alex Rubanowitz, one of the top hitters in the Valley Invitational Baseball League, went four for four, including two doubles, to help the East beat the West, 10-3, in a VIBL all-star game Saturday in Encino. They used wood bats.

Another impressive player was Van Nuys Montclair Prep pitcher Max Fried, who struck out two in one inning. ‘He’s got an electric curveball,’ Hart Coach Jim Ozella said.

Chatsworth outfielder Aaron Brown was also impressive as a hitter.
