Baseball: A Foothill League resurgence

The Foothill League did not fare well in the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs last season because of a lack of pitching. Well, this summer Foothill League teams have demonstrated they may be ready for a resurgence.

All six Foothill teams won their playoff openers in the VIBL Thursday _ Valencia, West Ranch, Saugus, Hart, Golden Valley and Canyon.

That's what better pitching does for a team.
