Boys' soccer: Real So Cal advances to U.S. Academy finals

June 29, 2010 |  4:05 pm

The Real So Cal boys' U17/18  Academy club soccer team won its group title in Greensboro, N.C., to earn a spot in the 16-team 2010 Development Academy Finals July 11-17 at The Home Depot Center in Carson.

The top players include defender Ryan Malden from Agoura, midfielder JJ Koval from Camarillo, midfielder Emilio Orozco from Oxnard and forward Victor Chavez from Fontana.

The players don't play high school soccer, so reaching the Academy finals is their Southern Section or City Section championship.
