Boys’ basketball: Compton tourney starts Tuesday

Compton High is hosting a 12-team boys’ basketball tournament that begins Tuesday and concludes on Saturday with the championship game at 7 p.m.

Among the teams competing: Santa Ana Mater Dei, Woodland Hills Taft, Inglewood, Gardena Serra, Lynwood and Redondo.

Here’s Tuesday’s opening schedule: Compton vs. King Drew, 5 p.m.; Taft vs. Morningside, 6 p.m.; Serra vs. Birmingham, 7 p.m. and Mater Dei vs. Inglewood, 8 p.m.
