Xavier Johnson, a 6-foot-6 junior-to-be from Temecula Chaparral who was one of the top basketball players in the Inland Empire, has applied to Santa Ana Mater Dei, Monarchs Coach Gary McKnight has confirmed. It was first reported by OCVarsity.com.

That comes as the least surprising development of the off season. There has been much speculation that Johnson would not be returning to Chaparral, not to mention that Mater Dei loses most of its top players to graduation.
