There are now four players in the major leagues who played for Sherman Oaks Notre Dame: Mike Stanton (Marlins), Brett Hayes (Marlins), Chris Dickerson (Reds) and Brendan Ryan (Cardinals).

All played for Coach Tom Dill, and they learned a lesson in that they help each other. Take the case with Stanton. He showed up this week in the major leagues without a suit, so his fellow Knight, Hayes, helped him get a suit.

What distinguishes each Notre Dame player is that they were great kids growing up. So the alumni have every right to be excited and show lots of pride in their accomplishments.

And Dill is feeling good, too. His nephew, Robert Dickmann, a 2005 Notre Dame grad, was drafted in the 35th round by the Rays out of Pepperdine.
