Volleyball: Taft wins City Section Division I title

Woodland Hills Taft won its first City Section Division I boys’ volleyball championship under Coach Arman Mercado on Saturday, defeating Palisades in five games. The final score in the fifth game was 17-15.

Mercado, in his ninth season, said, ‘It was a classic. We pulled it out because we’ve been training for game five all year long.’

Scott Sanders had 22 kills and 10 blocks to lead Taft. Brandon Scharping added 18 kills and eight blocks.

In Division II, Westchester defeated Eagle Rock.
