El Modena beats Anaheim Canyon

Haylie Wagner hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning and shut down Canyon’s offense to lift El Modena to a 2-0 victory over Anaheim Canyon on Tuesday at Canyon High.

Wagner allowed two hits, one walk and struck out six to catapult El Modena (20-5, 6-0) into first place in the Century League over Canyon (18-4-1, 5-1).

The teams face off again on May 10 at El Modena.
