You have to admire the determination of Oregon-bound Brando Tessar of West Hills Chaminade. He was a two-sport athletic standout for the Eagles, and he’s ending his high school career by sticking with his two-sport commitment.

On June 6, he’ll play football in the Daily News All-Star game at Birmingham High. On June 12, he’ll play baseball in the City vs. Southern Section All-Star game at Birmingham. Now that’s an athlete.

In football, he was a receiver-defensive back who was the offensive player of the year in the Mission League. In baseball, he was a pitcher-outfielder who hit eight home runs and had an ERA of 1.45.

So all those people who say you can’t excel in two sports and still get a college scholarship, remember Brando Tessar.
