Boys’ basketball: Player at Texas high school was 22-year-old impostor

Leave it up to Texas to produce the latest ‘I don’t believe it!’ story.

It turns out that a 16-year-old sophomore basketball player named Jerry Joseph from Permian High School is really Guerdwich Montimere, a 22-year-old naturalized citizen from Haiti who moved to Odessa, Texas, in 2009 and graduated from high school in Florida in 2007 after leading his high school team to a state semifinal game.

Here’s the amazing story from the Odessa American. And just maybe, when a talented athlete checks in from another state, don’t you think a more thorough examination is required?
