As expected, former Reseda Cleveland Coach Andre Chevalier has been selected to replace Tom Roanhaus as boys’ basketball coach at Westlake Village Oaks Christian.

Chevalier, 38, a former Cal State Northridge assistant, has been the girls’ basketball coach at Oaks Christian for three years while serving as the dean of students. His hiring gives the Lions a big-name coach for a program that has lots of talent.

‘I’m hoping to be able to build a program and get it at a high level,’ Chevalier said.

Chevalier has a 13-year-old son, Andre II, who’s a seventh-grade basketball player at Oaks Christian with lots of ability.

Oaks Christian will now have to search for a new girls’ coach.
