Robert Gsellman, a 6-foot-4 junior pitcher-infielder at Westchester, came out late to the season because he was a member of the Comets’ state Division I championship basketball team. He hasn’t lost any time making an impact in baseball.

He’s batting .642 with 43 hits, 35 RBIs and seven home runs. He was selected the Western League player of the year.
