Van Nuys Montclair Prep, which produced major leaguers in Russell Ortiz and Brad Fullmer, has reached the Southern Section Division 5 semifinals after a 5-3 victory over Romoland Heritage.

Max Fried struck out eight, walked none and improved to 10-3. Tony Rosales hit a two-run home run, and Josh Brodsky, Myles Hager and Max Miller each had two hits for the Mounties, who are 23-7.
