Bryce Harper was only a sophomore in high school in Nevada last season when he decided to enter the junior college ranks this season so he could become eligible for the 2010 draft.

Now he’s expected to be the first pick next month by the Washington Nationals and is being touted as the best hitting prospect in 30 years. Here’s an excellent story from the New York Times on why so much fuss is being made about a 17-year-old.
