Baseball: Bryan Petersen set to play for Florida Marlins
Former Chatsworth High outfielder Bryan Petersen has been called up by the Florida Marlins and will join the team on Friday against the Washington Nationals.
What's noteworthy about Petersen is that he will become the first Chatsworth player to reach the major leagues since Coach Tom Meusborn took over the program in 1990. Meusborn has won eight City Section championships but never had a player make it to the majors.
Two other former Chatsworth players, Mike Moustakas and Matt Dominguez, are working their way up in the minor leagues.
Petersen was a standout at UC Irvine before being drafted.

How about Sergio Santos, former standout mater dei shortstop, setting MLB rookie record with most consecutive shut out innings. That's impressive. Shortstop turned relief pitcher 8years in minors now in majors throwing 98 hear and doing well. Named number one relief pitcher right now for the Chicago white sox.
