Baseball: A rule on pitch counts could be coming to New York City

New York City’s Public School Athletic League, under pressure from politicians, has begun monitoring pitch counts of high school pitchers and could put in a rule, according to a story in the New York Times.

Some of the same politicians who were involved in 2007 legislation that required the schools to use wooden bats instead of metal bats are taking an interest in whether it’s safe for pitchers to have no limits when pitching in games.
