Football: Jared Baker getting noticed at Loyola

Anthony who? Remember how Los Angeles Loyola was so reliant on running back Anthony Barr last season that when he went down with an ankle injury, the Cubs’ season was pretty much done.

But his replacement, junior Jared Baker, slowly earned respect, and Baker has continued his rise this spring, running a 10.83 electronic time for 100 meters and 10.47 hand time.

It all means Baker will enter the 2010 season as one of the most promising running backs in the Southland, with more improvement to come.
