Football: Crist, McDonald in Notre Dame starting lineup

Former Sherman Oaks Notre Dame standouts Dayne Crist (quarterback) and Anthony McDonald (inside linebacker) are running first string this spring for Notre Dame.

Coach Kevin Rooney traveled to South Bend, Ind., last week to watch spring practice and said of Crist, ‘He was throwing the ball great. It was fun to watch.’

Crist is expected to replace Jimmy Clausen as the Fighting Irish quarterback. Crist is coming back from a knee injury that still isn’t 100% healed.
