Baseball: Playoffs begin next month

For those planning ahead, here’s the rundown on the City Section and Southern Section baseball playoffs.
City Section: Seeding meeting is May 12. Division I play-in games are May 14. First round for Division III is May 18. First round for Division I and II is May 19. Quarterfinals are May 20 for Division III and May 21 for Division I and II. Semifinals are May 23 for Division III and May 26 for Division I and II.
The championship games for Division I and II are May 29 at Dodger Stadium. The Division III final will be either May 27 or June 1 at USC.
Southern Section: Pairings will be released on May 17. Wild-card games are May 18. The first round is May 20 for Divisions 1, 3, 5 and 7 and May 21 for Divisions 2, 4 and 6.
The second round is May 25 and quarterfinals May 28. The semifinals are June 1, with Division I held at Blair Field in Long Beach. The finals are June 4 at UC Riverside for Divisions 5, 6 and 7, with the finals for Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 set for June 5 at Lake Elsinore Diamond.
