Girls' basketball: St. Anthony falls short

BAKERSFIELD--St. Anthony struggled throughout a 62-44 loss to Los Altos Hills Pinewood in the Division V championship, putting together conseuctive baskets on only three occasions.

The Saints trailed by only four points midway through the second quarter before Pinewood 10 of the next 11 points to take control.

St. Anthony was unable to capitalize on its height advantage or contain the Panthers' perimeter-oriented attack. The school's first appearance in a state title game was not a memorable one.

Jordan Jackson had 11 points for the Saints.
