Girls' basketball: Pinewood on verge of breaking streak

March 27, 2010 | 10:34 am

BAKERSFIELD--St. Anthony simply has no answers for plucky Los Altos Hills Pinewood, which has a 52-32 lead going into the fourth quarter of the Division V championship at Rabobank Arena.

The Panthers are beating the Saints inside and out, and St. Anthony has not been able to sustain any kind of run to get back into the game.

Pinewood looks like it will become the first boys' or girls' team from Northern California to win a state title this weekend after the Southern California teams won the first four games.
