BAKERSFIELD--Things got a little scary there for Mater Dei when Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis fouled out with 5 minutes 15 seconds left in the Monarchs’ state Division II championship against Concord Carondelet at Rabobank Arena.

The Cougars, who had trailed by as many as 18 points in the first half, pulled to within seven on a layup by Hannah Huffman. But Mater Dei went on a game-sealing 7-0 run on the way to a 58-43 triumph.

Mosqueda-Lewis finished with 21 points in only 19:56 and Jessica Duarte had 19 points for Mater Dei, which won its second state title.

Huffman had 13 points for Carondelet.
