Girls’ basketball: Mater Dei 12, Brea Olinda 11 at the end of the first quarter

Brea Olinda opened the first quarter on a 9-2 run, and Mater Dei closed it with a 10-2 run to take a 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter in the Southern California Division II regional championship on Saturday at USC.

Both teams look extremely nervous. Mater Dei has nine turnovers, Brea Olinda has eight.
