BAKERSFIELD--Even the clock was running away in the final quarter.

With a running clock employed in the fourth quarter at Rabobank Arena, Stockton St. Mary’s breezed to an 89-41 victory over Bishop Amat in the Division III championship.

The game was all but over after St. Mary’s took a 20-4 lead in the first quarter. The blowout was just another example of why elite teams like the Rams should be able to skirt enrollment restrictions and play in Division I against the likes of Long Beach Poly.
