North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake earned a trip to Bakersfield to play in the Division IV girls’ state championship game after a 57-44 victory over Torrance Bishop Montgomery in the Southern California regional final at Colony.

Bishop Montgomery spent the entire second half trying to reduce its 11-point halftime deficit, but the Wolverines stubbornly refused to let the Knights get back into the game.

Nicole Hung had 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Wolverines. Sydney Haydel added 15 points. Kristin Ale’ had 15 points for Bishop Montgomery.

Harvard-Westlake will play Albany St. Mary’s in Friday’s 3:30 p.m. Division IV final at Rabobank Arena. The school has never won a girls’ basketball state title. It won two boys’ title when Jason and Jarron Collins were the stars.
