Girls’ basketball: Harvard-Westlake a fan of the 9-0

BAKERSFIELD--Harvard-Westlake used a pair of 9-0 runs in the second quarter to transform a one-point deficit into a 33-22 halftime lead over Albany St. Mary’s in the Division IV championship at Rabobank Arena.

Senior forward Sydney Haydel scored 15 points to lead the Wolverines, who outscored the Panthers, 22-10, in the second quarter. Haydel made six of nine shots.

Senior forward Nicole Hung added 11 points for Harvard-Westlake, which shot 41.7% to St. Mary’s 36.4%. Senior forward Danielle Mauldin has 10 points for the Panthers.
